That is an excellent question. I think it rains because the Lord is opening the Gates of Heaven & showering the people w/ Love & open arms of the people who passed before them.

If it rained at most funerals, it would be raining in almost every town, every day. Perhaps it has rained at most of the funerals you have attended. If that is the case, I think it is just a strange coincidence and nothing more.

I have always heard that when you feel a huge burden on your heart and you feel a sincere loss, nature itself tries to ease your pain. A gathering of sorrow brings forth a cry from the skies. I have attended about 12 funerals so far in my life and I am yet to attend one when the weather isn't matching the overall emotions of the crowd. Could be coincidental, but one time in particular, at my grandfather's layout..I felt different about it. It was about 95 outside, hot and humid until everyone got there and the service started. Immediately the sun dropped, wind picked up and it downpoured for roughly 20 minutes and as everyone went to leave the sun came back and it was as if it never happened.

It doesn't. You are assuming your personal experience or images from movies/TV represent everyone else's real experience.
It only rains at most funerals in locations where the local climate includes rains most days out of the year.
Otherwise, your assumption is simply incorrect.

first look at statistics, does it REALLY tend to rain at most funerals, or did someone just tell you that. Second for all the people saying that God is crying because someone died, isn't God HAPPY that the person died and is with him now?

this assumes that it indeed rains at most funeral.
i believe it does not tend to rain at most funeral, just that you remember when it rains but not when it does not which biases your statistics.

It dosen't. There's just as much chance of it being dry than it raining.

The Angels responsible for that person are crying. For those who stated it doesn't happen where they are, then the reason is those Angels are exhausted and glad it's over.

Maybe God's crying for the lost life. Or maybe it's just a freak thing.
