i purchased an older brick home that did not have a unit put in it when it was built. and at this point and time it is better for me financially to purchase window units.

A good rule is 500 to 700 sq. ft. of space per ton of AC.

You need a total of 2 tons. A small 5000 btu will work for the bedrooms, and a larger one for the family room.

Always measure your room which the unit will go in and then were ever you go to buy your ac they should tell you the right one you would need to buy. GOOOD LUCK
