I've done both, so here you go:

Advantages:
1. Less traffic
2. Nicer people
3. Quiet nights and lazy days
4. Easier to make friends - run into folks you know at the market all the time.
5. Nice neighborhood parties where everyone is invited.
6. Less/no crime
7. Fresh air.

Disadvantages:
1. Well water
2. Less infrastructure
3. Far drive to work
4. Everyone knows your business
5. If you need something done like work on your car, it's harder to do.
6. Waking up in the middle of the night and needing medicine is a bad thing - might not be a 24 hour store close by.
7. Long drives sometimes to buy those new XBox games.

Well, the advatages are that crime is virtually non-existant, and people are more friendly for the most part depending on where you go. The disadvantages on the other hand are the costs for basic groceries, restaurants (depending if they have one) are higher and you have to wait longer to receive goods that are shipped the further you are from a major city.
