Tachycardia is an abnormal rapidity of heart action that usually is defined as a heart rate more than 100 beats per minute (bpm) in adults. Sudden death can occur but usually only from a more serious condition known as familial polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (FPVT). There are different types of tachycardia, and the seriousness would depend on what type you have. Your doctor would be the best person to answer that. I have tachycardia myself and it usually lasts about a minute or more. What I do to control it is the valsalva maneuver, which is plugging my nose (squeezing with my fingers) and blowing as hard as I can. This usually stops the fast beating. There is lots more info at site below. Hope that helps!

I'm sure you know a resting heart rate of 120-140 is too high, your body will tell you so. I can think of no incidence that your HR should be so fast unless you an an infant. Normal goes like this; adult-70-80 BPM, Child-90-100, Infant-120-140. Physiologically what happens when the heart beats 2-3 times as fast as it should is that the heart cannot pump blood out fast enough to supply oxygen etc to all parts of your body, IE head (feel dizzy), feet (feel cool). You see.

It sounds as if you have been having this rapid (tachycardia; anything over 100 BPM) for some time, so you must have talked with a MD. By checking with a MD you can find out the cause, and therefore the cure of your rate dysfunction. You will need to get your heart beat down to normal for you. If you don't have a MD, you can go to the nearest ER, and they will eval it for you.

Go to a doctor immediately! The average heart rate in a adult is 50 - 100 beats/minute. You might have Hyperventilation. When you breathe very fast and deep (hyperventilate), ther carbon diokide (CO2) level in your blood can drop too low. Symptoms that may occur with hyperventilation include:
*Numbness or tingling ii your hands, feet, or around your mouth or tounge.
*Pounding, racing heatbeat and anxiety.
*Feeling like you can't get enough air.
*Lightheadedness (feeling like you might pass out).
*Chest pain.
*Loss of consciousness (if hyperventilation is severe).

If you are out of shape, your heart beats faster, but not that fast.. This does seem like a serious problem. Go to the doctor. Now.

You are smoking meth. Wait about half a day and you'll come down, make sure you get some sleep. The heart rate will decrease dramatically and you'll get your appetite back.

Then, smoke again.
