The liberal Agenda:
•attack American traditions, specifically Christian traditions and the traditional American family
•engage in "get-even" policies that support discrimination when it benefits historically disadvantaged groups
•punish and/or discourage achievement through taxation and fiscal policies
•use the rulings of the Judicial branch of the government as de facto law, irrevocable by anything short of Constitutional amendment or a future court ruling, thus bypassing the legislative process. Roe V. Wade is the most frequently cited example of "judicial activism".
•weaken the military strength and morale of the country by vilifying the practice of armed combat and hesitating to use force when it appears necessary
•use regulatory bodies over private enterprise to accomplish social goals and restrict competition (government, education, labor)
•establish secular and progressive social policy, including support for gay marriage, abortion, liberal drug policy, euthanasia and prostitution legalization.
•implement a foreign policy supporting the protection of human rights and multiculturalism through activism and social intervention.

Liberals ask the same question too you know.
From either group, there are the extremeists that tend to set what that group is all about. Sadly, memory is best used for negative points, so although you know a ton of liberals who have wonderful personalities, it is those nasty ones who want to convert everyone to their side that define the liberal mindset. Of course, on both ends there are going to be the nasties, but everyone who accepts people for who they are is accepted by everyone. My own politics for my life are liberal, but I vote libertarian. But I dont have a nasty personality simply because although I believe one way, I can understand what you believe and see where you are coming from.
What you need to understand about politics is that both sides are perfectly right, but its what side of the issue they find most important that defines them. Take abortion for example. The right side believes that you are killing a life, and no matter when you think life starts they are completely right. You may or may not be killing at the time, but you are stopping the progress of a potential life. Even the most extreme liberals can not argue with that point. However, on the left side they believe that abortion is a matter of a choice, and before a point it is just a clump of cells so a clump of cells is a small price to pay for such a basic right. You can do this with any number of hot issues, and all of them make sense when you think of how somoene else could feel on a situation.
Politics is all about being open minded, standing up for what you believe while being respectful of the other side. As long as you can just understand that not everyone in the world agrees with you, life would be a much better thing. And I agree with you by the way, although is the extremeist right wing that annoys everyone, it isnt just the extremeist left wing that does. More moderately liberal people are more forceful about their opinions and insist that they must force their beliefs instead of just waiting for the vote to come through.

Stating that all Liberals have a nasty personality is a very unintelligent thing to say, sir. You seem to think inside a tiny little box, brainwashed and incredibly stupid. All the 'Liberals' (as you have so kindly labeled these people) I have known, have been incredibly kind, caring, and understanding. Answer this, sir, Why Do Conservatives Have such nasty personalities?

I don't think liberals have nasty personalities. I think that conservatives and liberals all have nasty personalities and I think I know why.
I think that the whole political process is so mean, vicious and ill spirited that nastiness comes with the job.
I would suggest that the way to stop the nastiness is for everyone to quit the extremist nasty attack politics and get moderate. That way the discussions can cool down to a civil temperature.

I once read a scientific study of personalities. They said that most comedians have a very low self-image, often bordering on self loathing. They try to mask the pain with humor.
I think a lot of liberals are nasty because, on some level, they realize that their viewpoint of the world just doesn't make sense. They see all these events unfolding around them, but they feel like everything is spinning out of control around them, and that everything looks weird and distorted, like its being reflected from funhouse mirrors.
Therefore, just like little children who don't understand their surroundings, they get frustrated, which makes them whiny and petulant.
A lot of people see Bill Clinton, and think he's some habitually smiling good 'ol boy, but they've never seen him when the cameras stop rolling. It's night and day.
Same thing for Jimmy Carter. In private, he can be very mean spirited, bitter, and back stabbing.
What about John Kerry? One of his classmates from Yale said that he was "absolutely insufferable", referring to Kerry's arrogant penchant for trying to be a mini JFK. (If you heard Kerry's Vietnam testimony back in the 1970s, with that phony, exaggerated affectation in his way of speaking, you'd understand why he was seen as "absolutely insufferable".)
Al Franken? Absolutely vile and nasty.
Of course, there are a few wonderfully pleasant liberals. Susan Estrich is a cheerful, effervescent, delightfully charming lady who exudes class, dignity and fairness.

They tend to focus on what's wrong or bad in the world. If that is all you get see in life you can develop a dark mood. They chose to see suffering and misery. They are consumed by it, it is what defines them and gives them purpose or self worth in being able to help others. They think it will give them fulfillment or meaning to help others but are not able to find true happiness with-in. They are unrealistic in their expectations about how to solve these problems and come up with solutions that really don't address the issue at hand and are just really a band aid for a much bigger problem. That would frustrate just about anyone.

And how many do you know personally? Why are Conservatives so uptight? Why do they need to run everyones lives? Most Liberals are a pretty happy group. We may argue a point but we don't say conservative like it's a dirty word. If conservatives weren't so righteous, maybe we could smile even more.

I'd like to know this myself. Two of them from here have emailed me so far to "discuss" the different points of view. Both were rude and obnoxious and had no intention of discussing anything. They thought, wrongly, that they could somehow bulldoze me into agreeing with them and when that didn't happen, they went into the customary liberal way of insult. And if either realized just how little I'm interested in politics as a whole, they'd be amazed. To them, it's their whole life. And most of your answers from them prove your point that they do.)

Why do conservatives ask such stupid questions?
Never mind, it was rhetorical. Just give the 10 points to whichever fool parrots our own thinking.

It's tough being right all the time...:)
That's not true, you know -- I'm a liberal, and most of the people I work with (many of which are very hardcore conservatives) think I'm a wonderful person. There are tons of nasty conservatives, too, you know...
