definitely the 72 dolphins, no one has ever been undefeated since, a few teams came close, 49'ers(15-1) bears (15-1)
steelers(15-1), and the colts made a run this year, it's just to damn hard to go undefeated in this day and age, of course when the dolphins did it they only played 14 game seasons, but still it is a helluva accomplishment...

'72 dolphins as the ONLY Undefeated team. Where the person got '71 were is beyond me. I think they got confused by the idea that the season spans two years. Oh and what was the dude smoking that thought that Rod Woodson played for the 49ers. Yeah you WISH he was playing for them in '94, or for that matter ever played for them. He was with the Steelers in '94. As to the best team it was the '72 Dolphins. I don't care if some other team supposedly dominated. What really matters is the wins. The Bears didn't go undefeated so they aren't on the same level. Heck what about the Steelers going 15-1 and getting to the Confrence Championship with a Rookie QB. Sure it wasn't a Superbowl win but if we go by season that was something that others didn't do.

Single Best Season would probably be the Dolphins undefeated 1972 team. However it is hard to not acknowledge the 1985 Chicago Bears stellar run to Super Bowl XX. The only thorn in their side was the Dan Marino Dolphins win on Monday Night that ended the perfect season for the Bears. I love my Bears but 16-0 will probably not be doen again in my life time!

The 1985 Bears. They destroyed most of the teams that they played, rolled through the playoffs without be tested and crushed the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. They did lose on the road to the Miami Dolphins to spoil their perfect season, but they killed everyone else. The 1972 Dolphins were good, but they didn't dominate teams like the '85 Bears.

The 70's Steelers, & the undefeated Dolphins. But allways remember the great's, that people forget. Eric Dickerson, Walter Payton, Jack Lambert, Bob Lee, Bart Starr.

Not a St Louis Rams fan but they scored the most points in a season and could not be stopped in their run to the Super Bowl. Not sure if any of the defenses of the past could've stop them with the ever changing way the game is played.
