a tree is in the middle of my yard on the grass. can i cut it down ,,live in new jersey

Do you have a home owner's association with restrictive covenants? If not, you can probably cut down the tree. Just be careful!

It depends on the kind of tree it is. If I'm not mistaken, don't cut a dogwood (the state tree) - it may also be either a maple or oak tree you cannot cut. Check with the N.J. Extension office.

You can providing you're city doesn't have an ordinance against it.

if you are the property owner...double check with the city. if youre a renter...ask your landlord.
