Oh my God! I loved Layne! (and I still do) I was so depressed when he died. I guess it's true what they say... only the good die young.

I am still bummed to this day about him. Then Dime goes...how is it that two of my FAVORITE bands suffer such irreplacable members.
On a brighter note VH1 had a Heart special last month and Alice In Chains sang Rooster on it with none other than Phil Anselmo singing lead vocals.
INSANITY! Not Layne but very cool to see those two groups blend like that.

No, He is up in the top 5 though, behind Kurt Cobain, and John Anderson, but he is great, especially on songs like Angry Chair, where the voices are syncopated and out of sync, and rooster where his great voice shines through.

one of the best, for sure. there's NOTHING like hearing him and cantrell harmonise.
i was fortunate to have seen AIC over half a dozen times, with layne singing. i know a lot of fans these days never got too see him even once. may he RIP.
