Back in the 70's my grandmother told my sister and I that we could lose weight if we quit drinking (any fluids) during meals. Now we all know that she was not entirely correct. You can drink water during meals but if you are trying to lose weight you should drink a glass of water before you begn eating to fill you up a bit.
During the meal, make sure you have completely chewed and swallowed your food before you drink your water. Otherwise, you will just be using the water to "cram" the food down your stomach faster and that is never good because you can over eat that way.

Drinking a little water while eating to satisfy thirst won't harm you, but try to take most of your water between meals. Excessive amounts of liquids consumed with meals dilute the concentration of stomach acid, which is necessary for the breakdown and assimilation of protein and other nutrients. If you make a habit of taking regular drinks of water between meals, you won't feel as thirsty while you're eating.

no! our bodies are made up of 60% of water! a human person can last up to around 3 days, depending on the person, without food and only water. without water, the human person cannot survive! with your meal, it's even better because your body is already receiving so many nutrients that it adds with the water. so no it is not bad at all, it is what is best for you.

According to Mikhail Tombak's book "Can We Live 150 Years?" you are not supposed too. However, after the first few times, I quickly changed that practice (for reasons I am unable to disclose here).

No i don't believe so. Water during your meal helps your digestive system "move things along". It can also decrease the amount of gas that may develop.

No, water isn't ever bad for you. (unless it has something parasitical in it) you should drink as much water as you can get down your throat in a day.
