I weight 110 but I want to get down to 90 or 85. Some of my friends think thats too low

95 pounds is fine; that is about what I weighed at 5' 2", age 15. What worries me is that you want to lose 20 pounds when you were still on the lower end of the "normal" weight range. This type of thinking can lead to an eating disorder. This may be what worries your friends. Between the ages of 11 and 18, we should be eating around 2200 calories a day, unless otherwise stated by a doctor ( I eat more because I have a high metabolism, and still can't gain weight). If you start eating a lot less than this, are not getting the right amount of food and nutrients, and you may become malnourished, which can lead to you needing emergency medical care. There is no reason at all for you to lose weight, unless you are very short (under about 4 foot 8 inches). I'm sure that you are very pretty, and that is how your body is meant to be. We are all unsure of our bodies right now, but we are all beautiful in our own ways. Keep that in mind before trying to change yourself, and definitely consult a doctor. Good Luck!

You shouldnt really look at an exact weight without the context of genetics. How tall are you? There are height-weight-age charts which give a good guideline as to what weight range you should be in, depending on your height for your age.

There is also the Body Mass Index which you can calculate. It is: (weight in kilograms) divided by ( square (height in meters)). I think a normal BMI for women is 19-25. (you should double check this first)

You should also look at members of your family. Are they generally big-boned or large or are they generally really tiny? Your genetics are the boundary for everything, and if you try to aim for too low a weight, you can end up hurting yourself physically and emotionally.

I think 110 is a reasonably weight to be. 90 and 85 are definitely too low.

90 lbs is too low for a 15 year old. 110 is just fine.

It depends on how tall you are. Actually, it would seem to me that if your 15, and you weigh 110, then you might be underweight. But, it depends mostly on your height and various other factors, (like genetics,) If it is a peer pressure thing that makes you want to lose weight, then don't worry about it. Lots of people will say anything to make you feel bad.

It does depend on your height and your bone structure. If you are about 5'1 and petite boned than it might be o.k. It would be best to consult your doctor if you do decide you are going to try to loose weight. Keep yourself in check, eating disorders are very serious and easy for young girls to fall into, I know from personal experience. They seem like an easy solution at the time, but they have long term health consequences that can really do some damage.

as long as you are doing things the right way and being smart about your body, then its all good. dont get caught up in that "hollywood world" where being thin is what you have to be. Being health and fit is what's up. Try not to focus on a number, focus on what areas of your body you'd like to improve, afterall, no one can see your weight (110)
Also, you are 15 years old and you body is still changing...give it time, run eat right, keep on doing things the right way, but when you get to the age where your body isnt going through changes, then taking the necessary steps to where youd like your body to be would be more realistic

stay at 110 that is perfect. How tall are you that makes all the difference. You dont want to be too thin that is not healthy.

NOO your finnee some even thirteen year olds would kill to be 110,.. stay the way you are. if you want to loose weight the maximum should be 100 for you

Depends on your height. I'm 6'4 and if I went down to 90 pounds I would die!
