I have stretch marks on my thighs, behind my knees and on the sides of my stomach. The originals were from a growth spurt when I was 11 and they never really bothered me but now I have more which are from weight gain. I need the remedy to be pretty cheap as I am a teenager with not a lot of money to work with.

I don't think you should try to cure them, but what you should do from now on and in the future is to put moisturizing cream, and NO active creams as they will only increase your problem.
(Don't use any sort of diet cream)

Also, if you drink enough water every day, it helps your skin being better.Don't focus on it really, I have stretch marks too, and one day I told my boyfriend I was a bit upset about them, and he said he had to look close to notice them, and I was worried only because I was looking too close!!
I've decided he was right and not to care anymore.

He also said the most important thing was that my skin was soft, so only care about this, it's going to make you feel better.

And PLEASE, don't spend money on creams that are meant to be so effective, because I can tell you for having worked in one of the best cosmetics companies that they're made of nothing....

Just moisturize, drink water and smile, and you'll be VERY beautiful!! :)

If you live in the Uk, E45 is a good moisturizing cream for cheap available in supermarkets.
Body shop has great moisturizing creams as well.(my favourite one's mango!)

There are certain lotions that you can buy that are supposed to help with stretch marks. Personally, I have never used them so I cant let you know if they really work or not. I was told that Vitamin E oil works great. When I first found out I was pregnant someone told me about it. After about 4 months I started rubbing it on my stomach once a day. Im not sure if I just got lucky or if the oil really worked but I dont have one single stretch mark on my body. Its worth a try... I didnt pay but a few dollars for the bottle and for as small as it was it lasted a long time!

Sorry but once you have them then there is nothing you can do about it. You can use cocoa butter lotion or bio oil to help soften them up but you cannot get rid of them. They fade over time though, so don't worry. I had a few about a year ago and now they are the color of my skin and not that noticeable. BTW, your husband should already know that in a marriage bodies change over time and he just has to accept it. Nobody is perfect and I have not met a single woman in my life that doesn't have a few stretch marks. It is sweet that you want to look your best for him, but if he is really complaining than you should just ignore him.

The method: Silicone sheeting

What it's good for: Raised scars and keloids (overgrown scar tissue)

How it works: Silicone sheeting is placed over a scar and surgically taped down. Dermatologists believe that the combination of the occlusive layer over the scar and the friction from the silicone sheeting actually reduces raised scars over time. And in fact, silicone sheeting can take weeks or months to work (and can make your scar itchy when you wear it).

The method: Mederma ointment

What it's good for: Smaller scars and new stretch marks

How it works: Mederma uses an ingredient derived from onion skins to help treat scar height and discoloration. Its manufacturer claims it will soften hardened scar tissue, too. Mederma comes in a gel formula, so you can apply during the day and no one has to know. Visible results, however, can take awhile to show up.

The method: Microdermabrasion

What it's good for: Raised and slightly pitted scars

How it works: Microdermabrasion uses tiny crystals to aggressively slough off the top layers of skin. By sloughing off enough skin, microdermabrasion can help even out differences in tissue, thereby smoothing out a raised scar or making a pitted scar less deep. If you have very sensitive skin, however, microdermabrasion may not be for you. The process naturally irritates the skin, which can cause further discoloration if you're particularly sensitive.

this solution takes about 6 months, but is pretty reliable: go to a dermatologist, and tell them you're looking to get a prescrption for Retin-A. This should be covered under your (or your parents) health insurance. Make sure you tell the doctor what it's for. If that's still too expensive, try Palmer's Cocoa Butter. That will fade the stretch marks, and prevent futher ones, if used consistently.

Oh my love, there is no cure for stretch marks.

They will in time fade to a silver line, which you will no longer notice over time.

Not a lot of help, I know, but I'd hate for you to waste the little money that you do have on a product that will not work.

I have stretch marks on my abdomen, below my belly button, since I had my kid nine years ago.. they quickly faded but they've left my skin full of ridges which i can see but which you can't really feel. Commented on them several months into my relatinship with my last lover who I had a highly sexed relationship with, walked around naked in front of him all the time etc... and he said 'what stretchmarks?'. He was too busy looking at the rest of my hot bod to notice some marks on my skin! Whenever I feel insecure about them, I remind myself of this.

You can't get of rid of stretch marks no matter what you do...

Unfortunately there is no way you can remove stretch marks once you have them. Over time they do fade and become less obvious, but will never disappear completely.

Cocoa butter moisturiser can help them fade though (and smells gorgeous too).

You could get lotion or cream or something for stretch marks..They wont completely get rid of them, but it would make them less noticable.

I would totally recommend Mederma! I used it for a scar I had and was amazed at the results and at how quickly it worked! Plus, it's only like $13 for a tube so if it doesn't work for you, you didn't waste a ton of money! But, I think it will work! Did for me!
