Simple answer. Go to Key West, lots of Europeans do. It is the friendliest place in the U.S.of A. Because it's an island it's relatively safe. It's gay-friendly but not a "gay" city. Perfect climate. Go to the "Green Parrot" on Friday at five. Happy hour is from 3 till 8. You're guaranteed to meet the person of your dreams, it is not a gay bar.
Go to "Atlantic Shores" if you're gay or just like naked women.

You don't need a relative to visit the United States. You need a visitor's visa and a ticket.
