Midi?

I guess you mean synth and keyboarding, that's how true midis are made (though you can use a computer to make them too and all you need to know is how to read music).

I suggest looking into DJ-ing classes that teach synth, from what I have heard there are many in New York.

As for graphic design, check your local community college, almost all of them have classes in that.

Every piece of software included in Adobe Creative Suite is actually standard in the world of graphic design. They have the same interface and when you know Photoshop, it will cost you much less effort to learn Illustrator (for vector graphic) or InDesign (for press layout).

Pratt Institute is a well-regarded design school but I am not sure about their offerings in the music area if any.
