What's it about too? I only know what the falling ones are about: The Last Juror, A Painted House, A Time to Kill, and Pelican Brief. So if your favorite is some other than any of those, what's it about and why is it your favorite(for all)?

I like The Broker. It is about this big shot, very serious, political lawyer in D.C. He was imprisoned for being involved in knowing secrets and possesing software that threatens the worlds most sophisticated satellite system. He gets a last minute pardon from the President and is smuggled out of the country and taken to Italy where he must start a new life, under a new identity. Meanwhile the CIA spies on him to see which country (Russia, China, Israel, Saudi Arabia) will be the first to kill him. These governments had a lot to gain before he was prisoned, but he kind of screwed it up.
I like it because a lot of it is him adapting to Italian customs and studying to pass as an everyday Italian. I learned a lot of interesting things about Italy by reading this book.

I liked the Client. It was about a murder mystery case about two young brothers who are in the wrong place at the wrong time and come across something that will change their lives. I found it enthralling and kept myself glued to the pages wanting to know what was going to happen to the sly older brother. I saw parts of the movie which seemed to do the book some justice, but as most movies do- it failed to portray all that the book related. John Grisham is a captivating and mysterious writer.

Definitely The Testament, it has everything, greed, ambition, power, twisted plots, power of faith, redemption, environmental awareness. Every time I read it, it just gets better, and the author was so careful with getting the foreign language right on paper, and the right information about dengue, and he caught the flavor of Brazilian life, a great read.

I especially liked the old man who was out to teach a lesson to his disreputable family, how he made them sweat before they got any money at all. He was not a nice man in the first place but there must've been a soft spot in him somewhere. Rachel his daughter was a one of a kind person, whose faith touched many people, including the lawyer who happens to be the main character.

Runaway Jury

It's not at all like the movie, although John Cusak was quite good in it. The book is actually about the tobacco industry.

A close second is his first novel, A TIme To Kill.

The book is always better than the movie.

I love "The Testament." It's one of those books you can read over and over and it just as good as the first time you read it. Its about this old guy with lots of kids and everyone thinks hes senile but hes not. He jumps off a building and all the kids think they are getting billions in his will and they start spending money like mad but he leaves it all to a child that nobody knew he had living in the Brazilian jungle. A lawyer for the old guy has to go find her and goes on a little adventure. I recommend reading this book. It's really good.

He receives a very last minute pardon from the President and is smuggled in another usa and brought to Italy the position he ought to start up a clean existence, less than a clean identity. in the intervening time the CIA spies on him to work out which usa (Russia, China, Israel, Saudi Arabia) frequently is the first to kill him. those governments had plenty to achieve previously he became prisoned, yet he variety of screwed it up. i love it because a good number of that is him adapting to Italian customs and interpreting to bypass as a on a daily basis Italian. The Brethren: a few prison inmates occupy the time by black mailing people by mail. And then of course, they hook the wrong one.

I like most Grisham books, but this one has a little bit of ironic humor that I liked.

The Firm. It's much better than the movie, it has so much detail (but it is written in a way that makes you keep coming back), and the character development is believable. All of his new stuff - it kinda sucks. He should stick to writing fiction that revolves around the law.
