I use different colors and kinds for different things.
If my eyes look tired, I use a jumbo eyeliner pencil in a golden shimmer shade and line just the inside of my bottom lid, and around the corner of my eye, to brighten it up.
If I'm going super sultry, I use liquid black eyeliner for a defined look, or a black pencil and smudge for sexy a cat eye.
I also use a black pencil, purple pencil, and bronze. Depends on what eyeshadow and clothing I'm wearing as well.

I use CoverGirl for basic eyeliner in black and also brown. It has a nice sponge on the end for blending. For liquid eyeliner with a more dramatic look, I use Maybelline in black. It is a blue tube with a gold base. I love the way this eyeliner just smooths right on anf looks great!
I usually just draw it on my top top lid right along the lash line. For a more evening look I'll either make the line thicker or add a thin line below my bottom lashes. Sometimes I'll take it out a little bit away from the eye from the top line to make my lashes look longer.

If you want a more dramatic look you can use contrasting eyeliner or a really rich black. Application is also important, dramatic- lining the entire eye or classic- blending more smoothing out defining lines. Liquid eyeliners tend to have a more drawn look on the eye showing more of a dramatic look and pencil eyeliners go on the eye in a more soft touch. Look at the colour of your eyes, hair and wardrobe and the occassion you are preparing for. Have fun and practice applying and trying different types. Be aware of trends and techniques, but create your own look.

I buy dark brown eyeshadow, wet an angular eyeshadow brush and dip it in the eyeshadow. It gives a much more natural line than actually eyeliner. I always apply it on the top lid as close to the eyelashes as possible and not too thick. I apply it to the bottom lashes only on the outside half, not in near the tear duct.

there are different ways to draw it, because there are different eye shapes. If they're smaller, there's a way to make them look larger, if they're close together, there's a way to make them look more evenly apart. Go to a makeup counter at a department store and tell them you want to know what eye shape you have (they know the different kinds). Then ask them to show you how to enhance it. They will try to sell you the overpriced eyeliner (which is sometimes worth it), but you're under no obligation to buy it. Good Luck!

I usually wear black eyeliner (pencil) under my lids. I also have different shades of blues and a green pencil that i wear sometimes. And a little tip, liquid eyeliner should be left to the pros, because when an amatuer tries to put it on it looks horrible!

I use a black pencil eyleiner from MAC and apply it to the lower rim of my eyes and then to my upper eyelid. I try to make the shape of a cat eye. I usually achieve that by focusing on the angle of the line on top from my outer corner of my eye. I also apply an eyeshadow to compliment the eyeliner as well.

Use eyeshadow and an angled brush. Apply to the lash line (as you would eyeliner; top and bottom) It looks so much nicer than a a pencil.

It depends on how my eyes are looking that day..lol I usually use gray and I line my bottom lid. But if my yes are looking baggie and dark, then I take a white liner and line my bottom lid, then I use the gray or black on my top lid. The white makes your eyes look brighter. When I do my top lid, then I pull towards my ear and then line it. It makes it smoother. I like to use liquid liner when I am going out....it makes my eyes more dramatic.

I apply a thin line to right where my eyelashes meet my lid. Then sometimes I also apply a Very thin line to the bottom lid. This really makes my eyes pop and it doesn't look like I'm wearing a lot.
I use steel or black... but steel is my favorite!
