This is ok but if he is putting her above you and your relationship with him then trust me you dont want to be with him. Break it off as he is a mamma's boy and that will carry over into marriage and cause you lots of problems down the road.

There is a reason why he's 45 and NOT married- his MOMMY! Don't even try to compete.
I had a similar issue with 40 yr. old bf who's dad was his best friend.... to the point that he'd take care of his dad before he'd attempt anything else. (was almost evicted cause he paid all dad's bills before his own- i think he still sends him money every month like an allowance)

the best bf/ husband/ is a mamma's boy, at least that has been my experience, as long as the relationship between son and mom is not excessive or unhealthy, i am proud to say both my sons are mama;s boys they are 25 and 16,, the bond is established early in life i beleive while the baby is still in the womb, mom's to be can sense what sex the child is,, moms can give sons hugs and kisses where as if dads do it , there is always an underlying sexual crap, damn society !!!!!!!!! my current husband is not a mama's boy, next marriage i am gonna find a mama's boy to love
