I am a Canadian who wants to know how much you guys know about our politics. Which Canadian prime minister do you prefer, and why? Stephen Harper, Paul Martin, Jean Chretien, Pierre Trudeau, or Brian Mulroney? This is a tough question, guys--prove to me that you know as much about our politics as we know of yours!! Good luck!

By the way, I'm not asking you if you care, just how much you know!

By the way, "Englightenment" has it down pat--Bush is Harper's twin, and vice versa!

As for the opions of "Yahoo Sucks," you're not as smart as you think--Jean Chretien was a man. Also, if Canada didn't have gun laws, we'd shoot narrow-minded bigots like you.

I remember Brian Mulroney was Canadian Prime Minister when Ronald Reagan was U.S. President. Mulroney was a Conservative. I know (or believe) Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister in the early !970s. Trudeau was from Quebec and a Liberal. I remember free trade with the U.S. was a hot Canadian political issue in the late 1980s or early 1990s . I believe Jean Chretien was the first and only woman Prime Minister of Canada. Her political part I do not know. I would suspect Liberal. I sort of quit following Canadian politics in the late 1980s or early 1990s. I used to follow them more closely. When I first got access to the internet in 1999, chat rooms were in fashion at the time, and I talked with Canadians. I asked one Canadian woman who the Prime Minister was at that time and the response I got was an arrogant, "you should know the answer to that." True, but how many Americans would even be interested enough to ask. Not many I assure you. That of course did not impress me so I have never even bothered with Canadian politics since that exchange. I do look into Canadian immigration statistics because I really wonder why the white world wants to let mud people immigrate to their countries. Canada ended its restrictive immigration laws in the 1970s and why I will never know. The same is happening to
the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe. Anyway I digress. I do know Ottawa is the capital of Canada in case you are wondering. I know Canada supresses free speech (The remark I made above as to why Canada allows mud people to immigrate there would be considered a hate crime there.) And I know Canada allows gays to marry which is really quite nauseating. Canada doesn't allow people the right to keep and bear arms or only under very limited circumstances rather.

I consider myself up on many political subjects. I know many of the foreign leaders but I have to admit, I've never thought about anybody in Canadian leadership. The reason is, Canadians don't rock the boat. In the US media, the only thing I've heard about Canada in years was the bust of those 17 home grown terrorist. Other than that, you guys just don't make the news that much.
Sorry, I'm just being honest.

Personally, I couldn't name a single prime minister in canada's history let alone who is currently running or what their stance is.
I apologize, but as an American viewpoint, we don't have much interest in the politics of other countries.

Newly elected PM Harper has been your best as of the last ten or so years.... The Candian government has been sliding further and futher into socialism... Hopefully now, the more conservative Harper will put an end to it..

bon mot? The U.S. has no prime ministers, or men of tyranny that follow the british parlimentary system of govenment. Does Canada answer to the King? In this case, the Queen?

Don't know because I don't care. Canadian politics does very little to effect my world .. American politics, however, can effect the Canadians greatly.

The Canadian government doesn't stir up enough crap with it's own people or internationally to make the news, and that's probably a good thing.
