1. Pace (or 'fast') bowlers, the most common kind, on average bowl at about 82-87 mph. The fastest ball ever bowled clocked just over 100 mph, and was bowled by Pakistani Shoaib Akhtar.
2. No, the ball does not have to bounce. Once the ball is bowled the batsman can try to hit it, no matter where it goes. If a ball is bowled and it doesn't bounce (called a full toss), it will be ruled as a 'no ball' (an illegal ball which will have to be bowled again) if the ball is above waist height when it reaches the batsman. However, the batsman is allowed to hit it and make any runs he can from it.
3. I don't know how much cricket is televised in the US, but searching for a Sky Sports Channel is a start.

A bowler can bowl as fast as he wants to. There is no hard and fast rule or a limit for bowling. but the highest speed achieved is by Shoiab Akhtar, Pakistani bowler, who bowled at over 100 miles per hour. If it doesnt bounce, and goes full toss to the batsman(above his waist) it is said a no-ball. in that the ball is not counted, and the batting team get a run extra.
I dont think cricket is famous, or popular in US, but try surfing each and every channel for that.

It all depends on the bowler. The fastest has been a delivery from Shoaib Aktar(about 100mph). The second could be rom Brett Lee.
If the bowler wants to bowl fast he can.
No it isnt necessary that the ball has to bounce before it s hit. Theres something called a full toss

medium pacers from around 75-85
pacemen from 85 to 100... 100 has been touched by Shoaib Akhtar... and Bret Lee is pretty close... generally i guess bowlers bowl at around 75 to 85
bowling:
bounce half way down the pitch - short pitch
6 to 8 yards from the batsman - good length
straight bounce at his feet or where he rests the bat on the pitch - yorker
no bounce... straight thru - full toss.
bounching is better cuz it allows the ball to put and deviate from the pitch if the ball lands in the right position.. it swings before that...
cricket is shown on channels like sky sports, espn, doordarshan sports, ten sports etc.

some of the yop cricketers (shoaib Aktar) can bowl consistently at around 95 mph. Usually a ball does bounce before the batsman plays a stroke, however a yorker is aimed directly at the stumps (under the batsmens bat)

it depends... for a spinner it varies between 35-55 mph and for medium pacers... 55-75 and for fast bowlers it is 70-100+mph... no the ball needn't bounce.. unless it is above waist high...where it will have to be re bowled..

While everyone's mentioned Lee and Akhtar, I think Thommo, Jeff Thompson, the Australian needs a mention. Apparently he was as quick if not quicker. Sadly enough, there was no speed gun in the 70s when this man was at his peak
