grow F1 toms from seed & in a greenhouse, keep well watered & use tomorite every other day when transfered into ground, pinch out lateral shoots, & when tall enough stake with bamboo canes & tie loosely, then sit back & watch them grow repeating what i said earlier till they get to top of green house or 5 or 6 flower stems then pinch out the top, dont let greenhouse get to hot & try to keep air humid, then enjoy the fruits of your labour

In the UK, the most sucessful way is to use ring culture in a greenhouse. However, tomatoes will grow just about anywhere. If you've never tried before, start with cherry type tomatoes and grow them on a window sill.

the above answers are all OK but do not start to feed the tomatoes until the first fruits appear. Otherwise the plant puts all its effort into growing instead of producing fruit.
