Most likely, her parents are very into their culture. I had a Korean friend who's family was the same way. They are trying to teach their children the things that they learned as they were growing up, and want their household and rules to be the same as well. I wouldn't take it personally, although it is frustrating.
If you ever visit her at her home, I would suggest trying to learn something from her parents about their culture. You'd be surprised what you can learn, and you'll find that they are probably very nice people ... just from the 'old country'! :)

Have u let your parents know how u feel about this situation? If not then u really need to tell them. I would have your parents talk to her parents then maybe something will be done. I just don't think they would give you a straight or honest answer if you try to confront them on your own. Maybe you could go with your parents while they discuss the situation with her parents.

being a normal american girl doesn't relate to having a gf to spend the night. and to be honest? there's not much you can do, it's her father, and as you may experience, family comes first. Besides, don't worry, you got lots of time to talk to her, i know it's not the same, but hey, it could be worse..... so enjoy what you have, and don't challenge her dad, nor talk bad, just say "it's too bad your dad wont let you stay over". You must respect the "father" figure, even though you don't agree with him.

that's really common some people from other country's they might have a certain tradition or religion that's keeping them from doing that you have to understand if it's their religion but if it's not they are probably scared and not used to that with hispanic girls or maybe they ae just plain rascists but whatever the reason i it's about they're religion respect it if it's not i say be straight up with them have your mom talk to them and work it out that's logical to me.

well maybe you can have your parents work it out..i dunno why if u watch bend it like beckham its kind of the same story they are very family orientted and want the best for their children..but if ur parents talk they shud be able to work it out..just say to urs that u really want her to spend the night cuz shes ur bestest best friend and if they could talk to hers and explain this.....i think even they think alot of girls are lesbians and they know indian girls are less likely to be so if it gets out that their daughter sleeps at girls houses they might think she's like that..good luck
