Antonio Banderas or Johnny Depp? Who is the better actor? Who has got better looks?

I'm shocked this is even a question. Sure they both are talented in their own ways, however, I think that Depp has Banderas beat hands down in the most popular polls.

In my opinion, Depp and Banderas are equally as handsome (I'm a guy and a bad judge of these things) but in acting, Depp is going to edge Banderas because Depp is an American and so therefore his style of acting is what we would most commonly identify with. Banderas, being from Spain, delivers lines culturally different...but he still rocks.

Johnny Depp during 21 Jump Street and What's Eating Gilbert Grape was hotter than Antonio Banderas.

Antonio Banderas during The Interview With The Vampire was hotter then Johnny Depp.

However, both were super-hot during Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Now? Depp looks horrible when he is sloppily dressed and unshaved/unkempt. Banderas is always seen clean and dressed well.

When in movies (as opposed to on the red carpet and in public), Johnny Depp usually looks fine (with the exception of the Pirate look). Banderas generally looks great all the time, and can do little to improve.

Must I choose???

Okay... Johnny Depp... but not by much!

Antonio Banderas is way more talented than Mr. Depp... Banderas plays the Spanish guitar masterfully, and he's also musically superior to Depp. Back in his native Spain, Antonio has done many magnificent movies which are not too known in the States. In my opinion, Johnny Depp possibly wishes to have the Resumé that Antonio Banderas possesses. Banderas, hands down, is the better actor. Nonetheless, Johnny Depp is a great performer.

I can't offer an opinion on who is better looking (a matter of taste better left to the girls) but Johnny Depp is by far the better actor. The only time you'd cast Banderas over Depp is if you are looking for Zorro or a Zorro-like character - and even then I think Depp might do a better job.

If it is a character piece, then Johnny Depp (Crybaby and Pirates of the Carribean). If it is accent, no one can beat Antonio Banderas...I could listen to him read the back of a cereal box and get excited. Both have aged well, so looks are difficult to judge. So, I'll have to say this, I've adored Johnny Depp since I was a preteen. Though Antonio moved to the states and Johnny left them...there's something attractive about being loyal to the red, white and blue.

Johnny Depp has come a long way since 21 Jump Street and has proven himself as a gifted and versatile actor! He's a little zany still, but I like that in a person. He is absolutely adorable, this Don Juan de Marco!!

For sheer good looks, though, I would go for Antonio Banderas. He just oozes sex appeal !!

Depp is the better actor. But Antonio Banderas does have the accent going. Though, Johnny Depp is such a good actor that he could pull off an accent without anyone doubting it.
