Depends what you are looking for. Both should be visited at least once.
However, if you are looking for four, larger parks and have more time, definitely Disney World. There is tons to do in the area as well. So if you go to Orlando you could spend months there to see everything. So it can be a bit of an understaking if it is your first trip to Disney.
Disneyland is the original, so has that special element for Disney fants. The parks are smaller and don't take as much time. It is better for a short trip, or the first trip to Disney.

It depends on what you're looking for. Disneyland in California is smaller (two parks and 3 resorts) and Disney World is a lot bigger (4 parks, 2 water parks, a shopping and dinning area known as Downtown Disney, and about 20 resorts). Both parks are going to have similar attractions but the parks are not exactly the same.

I have been to both parks. World is heads and shoulders above Land. Walt purchased all of the surrounding land and has built many theme parks on the propertyy along with all sorts of resorts. Since Disney owns all of the propert around Disney World the are able to control all the shops/restaurants/ etc. They have World/ Epcot/ MGM/ Animal Kingdom/ downtown Disney/ Boardwalk/ Pleasure Island. There is way more to do in the Florida resort in and out of the Disney property. The only drawback with Disney World is the weather. CA seems to have much better weather than FL. It always seems to be raining in FL or some type of Hurricane or storm system is brewing. Good luck

Disney World. EPCOT center is like a whole additional park. Plenty to do for all ages.

Well, i havent been to either of them, but i heard that Disney World is alot better. I think its much more fun.
