Why do Americans thank the soldiers for fighting for OUR freedom, but we're not being attacked or anything???

"Our" is to mean the entire world. It's a principle in which you may or may not believe, but the concept is that the whole world deserves freedom, and we want to believe that we're helping achieve it.

Are you serious... Well for starters because we signed the line saying that if we are needed to fight for our country that we will leave our families and go to protect them. On top of that if we weren't doing what we are doing right now we probably would be attacked. Do you have any clue all of the plans Iraqi insurgants had for ways of hurting us...ie releasing nerve gas in the NY subways...Of course we aren't being attacked because my fellow soldiers,airmen, seamen and marines are over there, missing thier families, and putting their lives on line to keep the insurgants occupied and stopping them from attacking the US and disabling them from being able to ever do it. Do you not remember 9 11? FBI officials have gone on record countless times stating that they are positive Iraq had a very large hand in the 9/11 attacks. So how are we not being attacked?

Just remember that because I and my commrades in the armed forces are all accross the world without thier families and fighting to protect this country you have the FREEDOM to stay at home, sit on the couch and eat bon bons if you choose. Appriciate it.

Not been attacked? Have you been asleep for the past 5 years? Where were you on Sept 11, 2001? The moon? If those soldiers were not over there now, there would likely be a large number of terrorists here in this country now. trying to kill every last one of us.
