Songs, playing in the mind, become the subtlest shuttles across the years"

The loveliest quality of music to me is one of two things. Either because music can exist anywhere or because sometimes I feel like certain jazz artists (or other genres) are stroking my soul.

Arrangement. Anything used as an instrument, even the voice, the sound of dropping water, or -my favorite- a fetus heart beat through an ultrasound (thanks Prince), if it is arranged correctly, has the ability to hit that place in your soul that just moves you. All genres of music have the ability to do this.

It "hath charms to soothe the savage breast." Certain music has the ability to calm me and even to refocus on problems. At the same time, it can inspire, and create great joy. I suppose I could just say, the emotional impact.
