Isn't it completely obvious? Jompeizo came and ate them! They were just minding their own business - the robber trying to steal delicious Cookie Crisp, and the Irish cop busting him and throwing him in the paddy wagon - when Jompeizo descended from the sky and ate them! And do you know why he ate them? (This is a big secret...) Jompeizo is the evil twin brother of Leaper, the frog who leaves you your favorite box of cereal for Leap Year! Jompeizo took his revenge out on Leaper for being the good brother by eating the Cookie Crisp Characters! That's what happened to Boo Berry, too! Wow, what a bad Jompeizo!!!! =D

I don't know what happened to the cops and robbers mascots, but I do know that they were not the original Cookie Crisp characters either. In the 80' sCC used to have a wizard with a long white beard and pointy hat. They had two flavors too chocolate chip and vanilla.

I know. I loved the cop and robber. It sucks they changed it. And like a long time ago, didn't the Honey Cheerios bee like kept trying to get the cereal but he never did? I miss old cereal commericials, lol.

the cop was arrested for being crooked he was caught with toucan son of sam smokin that cocoa puffs after they had pirated capn crunchs ship and was transporting tony the tiger to be enslaved by sigfred and roy as a breeder tiger..the robber is currently doing five years for molesting lucky the lepricon ..but he has written a tell all book about the seedy underworld of cartoon cereal celebrities soon to be a made for tv movie

I guess General Mills figured they were popular enough with their consumers. (They haven't gotten rid of Lucky (Lucky Charms), Wendall The Baker, (Cinnamon Toast Crunch) The Honeybee, (Honey Nut Cheerios), The Trix Rabbit (Trix) or Sonny (Cocoa Puffs).
Those guys are probably most memorable with people. Most people will know who the Trix Rabbit, but probably not the cop and robber and his dog. I think they took them away quite frankly out of popularity with their consumers.
