All of the songs on the red hot chillie peppers album is bout love and trying to get there music to mean more. They wen tot drug rehab an from there they are all abou trespect and love. Dani california is about a love of a guy that his love runs away and trys to survive in california. There she trys to contact hima dn they fall in love again and the whole thing is the life story.. of dani that moved to california

I think it's one of their best songs ever. I love the chorus, because it's kind of haunting. "California Rest in Peace" Because it refers to the character 'Dani California' but it also refers to the state. And how people don't care to much about the enviroment lately. It (and many other places) is starting to become just business centers, and yuppie buildings. It's deteriorating. And they're from LA, so they're kind of sticking up for California, they're watchiong out for their home. And they're trying to get other people to, too.
