A Wonder Woman movie is due to come out in a year or two, if I remember right. The movies "Constantine" and "Swamp Thing" are based on DC Comics characters as well. The big contributing factor to five Superman and five Batman films (and counting) is name recognition, even by non-comic readers.
I've thought about a great idea for a Green Lantern movie treatment myself, but I'd find it easier to work with John Stewart myself.

Oh my gosh, I agree with you. Wouldn't it be cool if you see a live Green Lantern movie? I bet Warner Bros and DC comics are thinking about that. They want to make sure that if there going to make a film about their characters, it will click with the public. Don't worry, there are lots of Vertigo films in production like Y! The Last Man, a Constantine sequel? and more. I'm looking forward on Superman Returns and the new Wonder Woman next year. Don't worry and lose hope as DC and WB are making things happen.
P.S. Watchmen too will be a great movie or should they have it as an HBO series???

There are several DC Comic films that are in the works for right now. Wonder Woman is almost set to start production soon (while waiting for a script from Joss Whedon), a Flash movie is in development right now with David Goyer set to direct, & movies versions of Green Lantern & Aquaman are also in development at this time at WB. A movie version of Shazam is being developed at New Line Cinema ( which is owned by Time Warner).

Green Lantern would be great. Their was a tv movie about the flash a few years ago and it sucked. The problem with taking comic characters and making them into movies is they take a lot of the important items out of the movie versions. For instance in the comics supermans fortress of solitude was built into the side of a mountain in the artic. He also had miniaturized survivors of Krypton that he had living in a bottle with a red sun atmosphere

I really do hope that WB will make more comic based movies without resorting to what I personally feel Marvel has done which is making movies for movies sake. I do feel that their main franchises (Marvels) have been done well in the translations. In terms of DC, I like the more recent translations with Constantine and Batman Begins leading the pack. However, when you stray to far away from the source material, a la Catwoman, you end up with a mess that no fan really cared for.

GL and Flash would both make terrific franchises for Warner Bros., if they do it right FOR A CHANGE! They should start with the Golden Age characters and work their wayup to the more contemporary characters. Firestorm would be cool, but if WB is smart, they'll work on some of the fringe characters and not hype them as comic book movies, like Deadman or Jonah Hex.

Wonder Woman is going into production soon and I would like to see a Green Lantern movie (Hal) Lobo might be fun to do but could be too silly the Teen Titans or Shazam but just Billy/Cap hey how about Plastic Man to the one with the Watchman question I think HBO series so they can stretch it out to not lesve anything out

Batman and Superman are by far the most popular and best money makers. I like the idea of Green Lantern myself. Doom Patrol would be another good one. But I don't think Hollywood versions of either are going to be done.

Green Lantern would be good or maybe something like Heroes for Hire: Power Man and Iron Fist or even Dr. Strange which there was a movie a long time ago but it wasn't all that.

This is the age for movies of that genre type. We at this time are in need for Hero types since we are at war still in Iraq and it seems that if N. Korea has it's way we will be moving on to them. I feel that D.C. and Marvel will continue to make movies like that. Not to mention all of the new Hero type of shows that are popping up on television.
