sounds like the song is talking about someone he loved died or has left him and she is forever haunting him.

It means "I'm Alexi and I just wrote a song and now I want to record it but it needs vocals so I'll just make up some cool-sounding English words on the spot".
Kissing the Shadows was written in the studio and added to the Follow The Reaper album as an afterthought. The lyrics were improvised.
And like all the other Bodom songs there isn't any real meaning behind it, the music is the important part. Alexi's a composer and musician, not a poet.

It's about the love he wants but she's far away and he can't get to her or have the courage to tell her.
