I am currently a SAHM to my son, therefore, all of the income from this job would be icing. Which is a really nice though. I am meeting with the woman again tonight, and I will discuss it with her. I would be happier getting $250 a week cash. Thanks for the great answers!

If it's a 40 hour work week that's $5.50 an hour. It's not unreasonable but you wouldn't be unjustified to ask for a little more either.

On the other hand not many jobs would let you bring your 2 1/2 year old son with you so that benefit is definitely worth the consideration. Especially if you'll be eating their food and stuff.

Can you afford to work for $220 a week for the summer?

You are going to watch three kids from 8:30 to 3:30 every day of the week for $220 which is $44 per day and roughly $7.50 per hour. Since it is likely cash you are doing better than minimum wage it seems fair.

My personal feelng is that you are watching that many children that the rate should be a little higher.

Keep in mind that summer camp for these kids is a minimum of $250 per kid per week.

Absolutely. Think of the savings that you are giving them and then instead of claiming it on taxes, you can say that since you are giving them such a great discount throughout the year, that you don't claim taxes. If they don't want to do that, then don't watch the children. My child went to daycare 5 days a week and it was $183.00 a week. Let them do the math. Good luck!

That's a good price for watching three kids because not only is it benefiting you but, your son as well now he has some other kids to play with all summer. Plus kids are more comfortable in there own home.

Sounds pretty decent to me. I don't think I was even making that much a week slaving away at Taco Bell for minimum wage.

you are being paid about minimum wage if you are taking care of them for 8 hours a day for 5 days. It may be worth it if they provide you with other perks such as free room and board. I personally think that you are being underpaid if you do not get other perks. Also it depends on your experience.

Anything would be better, but it is a good rate beings you won't have to purchase the food, pay for the electricity and such. I think it is a great deal!

Yeah, I think that sounds like a good gig!! Should be fun, the 9 yr olds probably entertain them selves and the babies probably will be buddies in no time. Have Fun!!!!

I would say that is a great wage. You have access to the kids own sleeping quarters , you use the parents food and you don't have to drag them back to their home. I think it is a great wage and is so much more bennificial to you.
