There is no definitive answer other than theories, but theories can be very convincing. The best one is this: two p-branes collided unlocking the four fundamental forces of physics; gravity, electromagnetism, weak, and strong. The variables of space, x, y, z, rapidly expanded into infinite with time. Therefore, we have the easily percieved 3 dimensions with a 4th time, all of which we can sense and measure. This is how space rapidly expanded
A collision of universes caused it. Multiverses.

This is probably the best explanation I can give you:
The big bang theory basicaly states that at one point, there was a huge ammount of energy that clashed with itself into a given point. Through various experiments, it has been proven that clashing highly mobile sources of energetic particles can result in genesis, in the formation of matter and anti matter. This means that this energy was transformed into matter (matter is basicaly just energy trapped into the form of an atom, giving curvature to the universe, and therefore having mass). The matter, as we know it today, shot towards 1 direction from the bang, and the anti matter into the other. Theoreticaly there should be the same ammount of matter as there is antimatter in the universe. There are galaxies just like ours out there made up of antimatter, and would look virtualy the same. If these galaxies were to come together, they would turn back into the energy, since the reaction of 1 atom of hydrogen, and 1 antihydrogen atom result in the release of a photon (energy basicaly put). The universe was made this way.
Sorry about any bad spelling, I am relating this off of my memory.

the tremendous Bang theory states that an incomprehensible time in the past, the full universe replaced into compressed right into a quite dense mass, probable as small as a baseball. The mass, after time, grew to develop into so condensed and had a lot power that it exploded. remember began racing outward speedier than the speed of sunshine. at the same time as nevertheless capturing outward, clumps of remember got here mutually to type galaxies. by understand-how of the Doppler result (the replace in wave length talked about at the same time as an merchandise emitting mild is transferring in the route of [blue shift] or away [pink shift] from the observer) we are in a position to verify that heavenly bodies are certainly transferring far off from us nevertheless. Edwin Hubble replaced into the first to observe this. lower than the tremendous Bang theory this can ensue for an eternity. The Pulsating Universe theory (a thoroughly diverse theory) argues that ultimately the upward thrust will end, opposite, and again compact to commence the cycle again. that's never ending. The "reliable State" theory signifies that, on the middle of the universe, remember is continuously forming and the universe continuously increasing. that's only a short answer on your question. adult men have spent lifetimes hunting for the starting place of the universe. Please undergo in thoughts although, those are merely theories and are not truth.

For there to be nothing there would have to be something to hold its existence.Nothing would have to have no beginning with regards to time. And the something that holds nothing in its existence would also have to have no beginning. No beginning means an eternal past. The temperature of nothing would be homogeneously ever plummeting.Something would be at a temperature much higher.Temperature wise you could get close to nothing but you could never actually be in nothing. There could be vast expanses of nothing. The somethings would have to be geometrically placed. The temperature of nothing would make an ideal seed ground for a universe to start up.The slightest change near nothing and you have something.Because pi has a beginning the universe has a beginning. The slightest change in nothing and its pi.In all there is that is all there is is nothing and pi.That makes pi only as it can be a list of instructions for the construction of the universe. It is the universe is pi a geometric evolution.

It is thought to be driven by a phase change that occurred as the universe cooled. The energy difference between that stored in the original phase and the much lower energy of the final phase drove the inflation of the Universe.
The inflation period has been hypothesized to explain the very large scale structure of the Universe, which was otherwise inexplicable.

The answer is found in the Old Testament of the Bible. In the book of Isaiah, written 2700 years ago, it is written that God "stretched out the heavens." The same concept of God stretching out the heavens is mentioned 4/5 times in the book of Isaiah alone. It is mentioned in other books of the Bible also. Check out a concordance. Funny that the Bible reported on that feature of the heavens long before mankind knew to ask the question.

The Big Bang theory starts from a point (dimensionless) of infinite energy density which is the origin of space and time. They avoid needing a cause for the expansion by setting the origin of time at this point.

Okay, the guy who wrote the HOLY KORAN answer got it...but I have the short version.
Allah created the big bang using C4 explosives. So Allah created the universe using an IED (Improvised Explosive Device).
Case solved.

Indeed your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Alameen
He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent
And the cattle, He has created them for you; in them there is warmth (warm clothing), and numerous benefits, and of them you eat
And (He has created) horses, mules and donkeys, for you to ride and as an adornment. And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge.
And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours (and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)). Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember.
mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Hawwa (Eve)), and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an AllWatcher over you
mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth).
He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein.

I don't know the answer to that. But if you haven't already, you should watch the beginning of Ice Age. I truly believe that's how the continents of Earth were formed!!
And if you don't want to watch it: Scrat, the squirrel/rat looking creature lodges his acorn into a slab of ice, he pushes too hard and you hear the ice cracking. Next scene you see the ice forming into their respective continents. lol, it's funny.
