We spend a lot of time at the Pointe Resort in Phoenix.
We like it there, and have friends there, but currently live in Hawaii, so moving isn't an option.
Tell you what ... very hot: Like 100+ from late May til late September. Phoenix/Scottsdale is one of the cleanest metropolitan areas you will encounter for an area that size.
There is tons of shopping.
If you visit, you will want to go in early spring, or late fall. You will want to stay north of Van Buren St. (get a map), and east of 19th ave.
Check out some of the activities, the university, Scottsdale Fashion Plaza.
Have fun!
Tucson is nice, too ... but a bit quieter. Northern AZ (Flagstaff) can get bitterly cold.
Sedona and Prescott (pronounced Pres-kitt) are worthwhile side trips.

I live in the Phoenix area for about 22 years. However, I lived in MI for 2 years as a child.
There is so much stuff to do here it's not even funny.
I'm within 20 minutes of 3 malls. There's every possible kind of restaurant around.
There are tons of parks & the Grand Canyon is only about a 4 hour drive. Sedona, which is about a 2 hour drive is really fun to shop at.
What types of things do you like to do?

There is plenty to do. Don't hesitate coming. There's Tucson, Flagstaff, Sedona, and Phoenix. Depending on what you want to do and how much you want to spend will pretty much determine where you go. Overall, I'd say Phoenix is a good place to start because of Arizona State University and there is plenty to do in the Phoenix area. Good luck and have fun.

The college crowd hangs out on Mill Avenue in Tempe. It is in the neighborhood of Arizona State University and has restaurants and shops that are geared toward college students.

My stepdad and sister live in phoenix and i vist them a lot.
But it all dependes on where you go. Like some places are sizzlin and soke up all your swet and sometimes the heat kills the fun. But if you go to waterparks man you will have a blast i have been to all of them they rock my world expeshally Wild Waters. Other parts of arizona have snow and it is cool but not a lot of action like in phenix i think you should go there and the only boring thing that will happen to you is the flight there and back

I'VE LIVED HERE FOR ALL MY LIFE AND LET ME TELL YOU......IF YOU LOVE THE WATER, THEN VISIT LAKE POWELL. IT'S ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS THERE!!!! IT'S IN NORTHERN AZ NEAR A TOWN CALLED PAGE. BUT HURRY FAST, BECAUSE THE LAKE LEVEL KEEPS DROPPING. IF YOU LOVE SHOPPING THEN PHOENIX IS THE PLACE TO GO. FLAGSTAFF IS OKAY TOO, DURING THE WINTER THAT IS....ONLY BECAUSE OF THE SNOW BOWL WHERE YOU CAN GO SKIING OR SNOW BOARDING. ARIZONA IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.....YOU JUST HAVE TO BE ADVENTUROUS........HOPEFULLY I HELPED YOU A LITTLE BIT.
