Go to planned parenthood in your city or visit your local human services office. Look in the yellow pages for clinics who offer free counseling.

Here are some ideas. All the Web sites I mention are linked at the bottom of my answer in the Sources section.

1.Schedule a family planning appointment with your local health department or Planned Parenthood (link below).
2.Call your state insurance department (link below) and ask about the following programs:
a.Any possible pregnancy or women’s health programs.
b.Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP) (link below)
c.Medicaid for your pregnancy
d.Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) (link below)
3.Some church organizations have programs to help young mothers have a baby. They’ll help pay for the pregnancy and delivery and also find a home for the baby if you decide you want to give him or her up for adoption. I’m not a churchgoer myself, but one of my friends is a Catholic monk, and they have helped a lot of girls in your situation.
4.Your parents: If you can get on their insurance, that would be the simplest way, although if they are going to be hard on you that might not be good for you or the baby. If they don’t have insurance either, check out MostChoice.com (link below). I work there, and using the site is quick and easy. You just fill out a form and wait for agents to call you.

Good luck. I can’t imagine being your age again and being a parent, but my girlfriend and my sister have gone through pregnancies recently and it is an amazing thing. I’d find a local organization with young women in your situation. It might be a way to feel less alone and give you a little extra strength. The American Pregnancy Association looks like it has some good information (link below).

Take care

DO NOT GET AN ABORTION!!!

I got one about 2 years ago and regret it. It was the absolute worst mistake I ever made and I have not and will never get over the fact that I took my own childs life. It's not the best solution in any situation! I don't know if that's what your parents suggest you do, but just by having the child, you're already being a better parent then they obviously are!

Call your local planned parenthood and make an appointment. They will test you to make sure you are pregnant and put you on medicaid, WIC, and food stamps, and possibly help you find a job and somewhere to go. If your parents are stupid enough to make you move out for being pregnant just know that there are hundreds of programs out there for people in your position. All you have to do is call them and fill out a few forms.

If you decide not to keep the baby, then there are plenty of families out there that would love to adopt and you can meet them and some will even pay for your medical bills, etc. but you have to agree that they will be the "Parents" of that baby.

Please do the right thing, don't listen to your parents in this instance. But please learn from this and do what's best and right for you and your child!! You're a grown-up now!!
doo the right thing and god loves you would he want you to take the life of alittle baby plese just whatever you do dont get an abortion pleaze god be with you

I agree with many of the other readers. Go to your county Department of Social Services and apply for Medicaid for Pregnant Women, and Work First (which will help you out with finding a job and getting money), and food stamps. Also there should be a WIC office which will help you with food for yourself and milk for the baby or breastfeeding help whichever you choose. They even have resources for housing if it comes to that, and help with finishing your education. Keep your head up and don't take to heart the negative people. Yeah it was wrong to have sex outside of marriage, but there is still hope. I had my first child at the same age. I graduated from high school WITH my class # 20 out of close to 250 students. I am now married to a wonderful man, and we had 2 more beautiful children. In no way am I promoting teen pregnancy, but just telling u that life does not have to be over. In my belief, abortion is wrong. Adoption is an option with many consequences as well, so please talk to someone u can trust before making any decisions. If u need to talk send me a message anytime!!!!!

you can get on medicaid. Go to your department of human service and get an application, SIGN up for everything possible. Do you have a job? If not get one.

Your parents probably did not cancel your insurance though, most of the time the insurance cancels you--because they will not deal with pregnant children.

email me, I was 18 when I had my daughter

I'm not sure what state you are in, but most states give help to women that are underage. There are programs like medical card and wic for women with lower incomes. You might want to check out a govt. site or call around to different doctors offices to get more info.

I wish you the best of luck!

You need to go to your local state department of Health and Human Services (the terminology may be different in your state). If you can't find them look under WIC clinics in your local phone book and talk to someone there.

There are a number of government agencies available that can help you with medical coverage, nutritional support, counseling and education. Take full advantage of them!

Don't waste any time in doing this. You need to be under a doctor's care right now. If you are having trouble locating services in your community, email me and I will try to help you.

God Bless!

You can seek help at Planned Parenthood. However, 17 is too young to be tied down and responsible for a baby. You should consider giving the baby up for adoption.

I am involved in social work. You need to go to your local DHS and tell them your situation. You can apply for medical benifits and food stamps and also go to the health department where you can get WIC. When you get your medical benifits, they will assign you a doctor. If you need a doc in the mean time go to the health dept. Your local DHS can help you with anything you need help with and I applaud you for standing up for yourself and your child. A child is a precious thing and a gift.
