Would 'all or nothing' thinking be the same thing as having everything 'my way or the highway'?

"All or nothing" thinking is a superset of "my way or the highway" thinking, but they are not the same. For instance, if you get 9 out of 10 questions correct on a test, "all or nothing" thinking would be that you failed the test, but that has nothing to do with "my way or the highway". "All or nothing" thinking is similar to perfectionism. On the other hand, "my way or the highway" thinking means that if someone working with you has only the choice between how you are doing something, and you not doing that thing at all. For instance, you are only willing to help someone if you can help them exactly the way you want them to, that's "my way or the highway" thinking. It doesn't have much to do with perfectionism, and more to do with rigidity.

All or nothing thinking is typical of OCD.
