Yeah, it's simple. Say an organism is born with some kind of mutation. Let's say for example (not exactly real) that a horse is born with a really long neck. As long as it can still function normally, everything is fine, and it can reproduce and you will find a few animals like it becuase it's been mating. Now say that all the trees that these horses eat from are wiped out and the only ones left are tall trees that they can't reach. The long-necked horse (giraffe) ends up having an advantage over the rest of the horses, and gets to eat more. Because he is eating more, he remains healthier than the rest of the horses, can breed more often, and therefor his genetic mutation that gives him the long neck will be passed on more frequently, giving you more giraffes in that area than horses. Nature selected this animal to survive here because of its advantage over the other animals.

All species have a distribution of traits. For instance, some people are short, some tall, but most average. This occurs for many traits in a species. If one end of the distribution makes a species better suited for their environment (reaching apples on a tree), members of the species with that trait will have an easier time surviving. Over generations, a greater proprtion of favored members (tall) will survive compared to the rest of the population (short, average). So, after many generations of reproduction, the average height will drift toward the favored height.

This is the basis for natural selection.

Natural Selection is a theory that Darwin thought of. It states that only the creatures with the best adaptability to their environment will survive and thrive for generations.

Im so clear on it cuz i dont remember exactly but the saying survival of the most fit goes along with it well. Like birds that live in an area where food is hard to get to require longer beaks. If your a bird in this envioronment with a short beak your more likely to die. Understand?

Sure...what do you want to know about it?

Basically it's pretty simple...organisms that are better suited to their environment survive/thrive and pass on their genes to the next generation (and so on and so on), while organisms that are less well suited to their environment die off and don't get to pass their genes along (at least in numbers as great as the better-suited ones). That's natural selection.
