YES! However the people that continue to pay for movies and shows etc... are the ones responsible. Their money ultimately comes from US!

Yes. Yes. YES. Did I mention yes?

I think it's just about rediculous for a person to get MILLIONS of dollars for acting a part in a movie, or playing football, or singing me their song on a stage.

Some will argue, that they have a large overhead, lots of people working for them, etc. Yeah, I know, they need that make-up person, the personal trainer, and that dresser, and that assistant, and the assistant's assistant. I think many artists have lost total control over their priorities.

I heard a female singer, say in an interview the other day, "oh yeah...I take my kids everywhere with me. I have three nannies, and they have their own bus, so they can play and nap and everything while I write, and perform"

What kind of life is that?

I used to work backstage at a concert venue. It was positively unreal, what these people would demand, and pay for. One female artist wanted her dressing room to be draped all in white, with all white fixtures, and white roses. This was for one night of work. Actually she spent about two hours in the dressing room. Another artist demanded all food be vegetarian. I mean all the food for not only the group, but for all the stagehands, all employess of the concert hall, etc.

If you want to go to a concert now, you have to get a small loan. If a ticket to a show costs $85, and there are 2500 people there, that's $212,500 just in ticket sales.

I went to a concert just last night. My date paid $65 each for two tickets. That's $130.00. Then, during the two hour concert, he had a few beers at $9.00 apiece, and I had a Strawberry Margeurita at $8.00. The cash machine inside the venue charged him $3.50 just to use it. The total spent at the concert was $177.50. Had we bought T-shirts, the cheapest ones were $35.00.

I guess when you get millions of dollars to do what you do...you do whatever you want to do, and everybody else pays for it.

I will take exception to Race Car Drivers. At least they have a reason for needing money. They have a crew, that works hard, cars to maintain, and fuel costs, etc.

But, yes, I definately think celebrities are over paid.

That would depend on the type of celebrity. sports celebrities are paid on skill levels in most cases, other on the skills they may have in the future. Actors and actress' are paid dependent on the role they are given in a particular movie or program, base in part on how many people watch the movie or program. If you don't like a particular celeb' they don't get paid as much. So in the long run, it partially your fault that they get paid for what they do, even if it's a small part. Especially if they celeb' or celebrities are musicians or in a group. You bought their CD, DVD. We are the one who put them on their pedestal, yet want them to be normal. FAME goes to the heads of all celebrities, the fault is, and will always be ours. We are the ones who pay them. If you think it's too much, don't BUY IN!

Depends on what celebrities you're talking about. Some sports celebrities are in fact paid a lot, but that is because the sports they play are dangerous, and they have to be compensated for those risks, otherwise they wouldn't play. As for actors, actresses and singers, some of them do not get paid as much you think. In fact, a lot of them are underpaid. But of course there exists Hollywood favourites that come and go. And while they are around, they get paid for the smallest things (e.g. 4mill for a magazine cover). So it all depends.

HELL yes!!! What talents????
These idiots are NOT performing surgeries or counseling people, all they are doing is throwing everything they have in the publics face as if they are Gods gift. They get away with hell just because they have so much money.
I personally think its a waste of a life to be an entertainer. There is NO PURPOSE, how could you get satisfaction from that lifestyle? No goals or ambition.
Anyway thats the world we live in

Yes and No....some actors and actresses work very hard just to get noticed and also many singers to. The thing is we are most of the time so obcessive about them we buy everything a singer come out with shirts cd's ect. the same with actor's if we like the way they act we see them in theater, rent, and sometimes buy. It's pretty much our fault they are so rich. But then there are teachers, and garbage truck people who clean up all of our garbage and crap that noone else wants to do but they do it and get little pay for it to.

I actually do think that in a lot of cases celebrities are grossly overpaid. Part of it, however, has to do with demand. I mean, if a person wants someone to star in a movie, but someone else wants them in their own movie, the two of you are going to be at odds trying to pay that person more to be in your movie. That's what's happened in a lot of cases. That's as far as movie celebrities. Music celebrities, well when they sign a contract they get a certain percentage of the profits from CD sales and concerts. The rest is all up to how much is actually sold.

Well of course that they are over paid for there work. Here now i think that for a concert they might at least recieve 2000 dollars or may-b even more u might never know.....it also depends how famous they are cause if they are just starting on all this things then they recieve less and the more they become famous the more they recieve!?!

Yes. People like doctors and teachers need to be rewarded. They save lives and secure a better future for all of us. While entertainment is important it is not the most important. I think Actors and Pro sports players are very over paid

It's easy to say yes because they are paid ALOT. But, consider this: they often go several years without another big paycheck. Our favorite celebrities are the lucky ones. If they don't invest or manage ther money wisely, fame and new friends quickly drain those millions, plus there's always taxes. Look what happened to M.C Hammer........$$~~00

Well, probably, but the fact is that we live in a Capitalist society, so they have a right to be paid whatever people will pay them. If we stopped going to movies/buying CDs, they wouldn't make that much, so we (the public) are the ones fueling the excess.
