But re-enlistment numbers in the military are higher than ever? People who have been there and seen the good we are doing know the score. Stop watching "The Daily Show" and talk to an OIF vet. Some will ***** and moan but the re-enlistment numbers speak for themselves.

cantcu- well, with rational discourse like that, I totally see your point [End sarcasm here]. I'm sure you would have loved living in Saddam-era Iraq.

BTW, requirements for re-enlistment have not been lowered, that's another myth. Also, those huge bonuses are rather rare. I just re-enlisted as a grunt without getting a bonus, because I know I can do some good over there.

Because they are ignorant...They rely on the news media for their info and this is not a good source. Ask the men & women that have been over there to see what they tell you. A big change in Iraq since we went over there. We knew it would not be an easy undertaking but it had to be done or we would be in worst shape than we are now.

Good we are doing? The president of Iraq doesn't particularly care for us! Neither do the Iraqis.

Good! You mean killing women and children in cold blood?

Enlistments are up because they lowered the standards to get in!

There are a lot of Iraqi vets against the war. Why don't you talk to one of those?

Better yet, find a body bag, Zip yourself up, and get into a container of ice, like 2,729 kids have come home in! Let me know how you like it!

They are a bunch of folks in midlife crisis reliving the 'glory days' of when student radicals lost us the war in Vietnam. Somehow they don't realize that was based on the unacknowledged racism of those who didn't want to be drafted to fight for the freedom of the non-white Vietnamese.

We need to teach them that Vietnam is over, the draft is over, and the hippie movement darn near destroyed our country.

And ask them--- why was it essential for Americans to fight for the freedom of Jews, Gypsies, Poles and others in WWII, but so bad to fight for Iraqis and Afghanis? Aren't they white enough?

Because they only see what is spoon fed to them by the mainstream media, which is a continuous litany of doom and gloom.
