I can no longer get AceFTP nor Dreamweaver to log in to my webhost to update my website. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I recently replaced my dial-up access with DSL broadband? Is there a workaround? I'm on XP.

In response to the first answerer: that's a valid point actually. But, no, it's not a case of forgetting which account does what. I've been a webmaster for a long time, just not good with hardware and network stuff. Thanks for bringing it up.

Dear RyanC, thanks for your very helpful contribution. It describes my situation pretty accurately, and gives a lot of great advice.
Unfortunately my ISP is claiming that I shouldn't be having any problems with FTP. They're even claiming it's not really their problem. They gave me DSL, and that's that.
Well, I'm going to have to investigate the matter further. Thanks again for your input. I shan't close the question yet, because someone else might have more input. Cheers
