At some time I was. Basic needs are: Food, Clothing, Shelter, sex and elimination. Once all these are satisfied then comes: Safety and security. After safety and security are satisfied then comes: Recognition. Thereare higher needs........but unless these needs are met one thinks they cannot clime higher on the needs satisfaction scale. Gangsters are no acception to these needs that must be satisfied. What are the safety and security issues of the very needy? Think about it. Safety in numbers. I got your back and you got mine. Who else can we count on? I get more recognition from my brothers than I do from any other group of society. Why do you join groups? Think about it. If needs are not met we are thrust into a lower level of existance and feel really usless. Every class grouping has gangs. Even grown men of the upper class have a gang. Just check out the Associations list in any pohonebook. Groups of people for a common cause. United we stand devided we fall. What other club would accept me.......I cannot even afford the fee to join. My loyalty is free. And some are satisfied with that.

Umm.. I don't think any real gangster would be online here answering these questions. Seriously now. They'd be out on the street right now. If someone here says they're a gangster, they're not. They're a wanksta.

I don't really know what you mean. Perhaps you refer to some poseur rappers who refer to themselves as "gangstas" and wear lots of sparkly chains. Or perhaps you mean actual gang members (i.e. MS-13, Crips, Bloods, Yakuza, etc.). Real gang members are generally driven to gangs by dangerous environments, the prospect of safety in numbers, grinding poverty, or a need to belong.

Are you one of those Caucasian chicks that likes those Gangsta types? Be honest.... it's the drugs, the fact that those mainstream Caucasian girls don't seem to like you (and vice versa), and the most feasible looking chance to get out of your parents house, isn't it?!?!

i was gang afilliated for a number of years, in and out of criminal matters, homicides, theft, drugs, etc.
It was because I was trusted and accepted by them more than I was trusted and accepted by straight people.
I heard the call to repentance, eventually, at about 30.
