What's not to like? China Beach was an awesome dramatic show. Let's see...it had Dana Delaney, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. A pre-CSI Marg Helgenberger (terrific in what was arguably the best role in the series) also won and Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Actually, Ms. Helgenberger was the reason I tuned in to CSI when that show began, I was thrilled to see her again as a series regular because she is fantastic.
Other China Beach regulars included Robert Picardo, Jeff Kober and Concetta Tomei - wonderful character actors! The show even featured a young, post CryBaby Ricki Lake, before she had surgery, lost all that weight and became a talk show host. Her character had a great story arch.
Oh, and who could forget Brian Wimmer, the requisite Hunk. Not only was he eye candy, but a very good actor.
The show presented a view of the Vietnam War that was young and poignant. I don't think I ever missed an episode - at least I tried not to. It won critical acclaim and many awards.
I'm glad you "found" it and I strongly recommend it to those who were too young to watch at the time.

I love the beach and fortunately don't live too far from miles of beautiful beaches, so very fortunately can go as often as we want to, which is sometimes every weekend.
There is nothing nicer than walking through sand, collecting shells, which does become quite an addiction. It doesn't take us long to realise that we have walked a few good miles from the car.
I like to look at the sea and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks, but I am always nervous of it, it just looks like it will devour us if we go too far out.
But yes, I love the beach at any time of year, apart from when it is exceptionally windy.
