Free speech is not without consequences. She's dumber than I thought if she can't figure out why everyone is making such a big deal.

I don't support the Dixie Chicks. They need to shut up but it is already to late.

Are you aware of the canceled concerts all over the country? I think it is too late. I was never a big fan but now I wouldn't one of their Cd's for a Frisbee. If they plan to make a living off their fans, they better go to Canada, France or some other wimpy country.

I love it when an entertainer is held accountable. Like most other Viet Nam vets, I am not "Fonda Jane".

Everyone has a right to their opinion but in saying that, if you are a celebrity no matter how popular you also have a huge responsibility when you open your mouth to voice that opinion to have all the facts. A disrespectful commentary on someone you've never met or know personally based on rumor or comments from others that hate that person is irresponsible and immature. I don't know this woman from the Dixie Chicks but have heard about her and her disparaging remarks on everything from the President to certain fans of other country singers and honestly anyone from either side of the issue on who spews venom without something to back it up, to me their opinion is nothing but silly ranting and not worth my time to listen too. Let her have her 15 seconds of fame, let those who want to join her bandwagon of ranting join, but for those of us who are more interested in the truth and not idle, baseless chatter to promote ourselves lets just move on. Let them continue to drag down and talk negatively about others but let us ignore the ignorant and do something productive for our society.

No she shouldn't shut her mouth. Even though she wasn't very smart to say that she was ashamed that Bush was from Texas (I mean, look at who listens to country music!), she's one of the few country musicians that is actually saying something about the war.

Why does everyone take up for that idiot president of ours, he's such a moron.

Why does she have to be fat? Just because she's not sick looking like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan?

She didn't do anything wrong, she spoke her mind, which as I recall is supposed to be a right that Americans have. GET OVER IT!!!! She doesn't like Bush, Boo freakin' hoo. 50% of America doesn't like Bush, he's stupid.

A better question would be why is she/are they not allowed to express their opinion about things?

Sure, many may not like it - but welcome to the hel that is free speech
