The equation would look like:
9 * (2X - 3) = X - 4 so
18X - 27 = X - 4
17X - 27 = -4
17X = 23
X = 23/17
X = 1.35

9 * ( 2x -3 ) = x - 4
18x - 27 = x - 4
(18x - x) - 27 = (x - x) - 4
17x -27 + 27 = -4 + 27
17x = 23

x = 23/17

(Rounding errors, as 23 / 17 is likely an irrational number.

Unless you want to interpret it as

9* ( 3 - 2x ) = x - 4

27 - 18x = x - 4
27 + 4 - 18x + 18x = x + 18x - 4 + 4
31 = 19x

x = 31 / 19 ( or x = 1.6315789473684210526315789473684 )

check with a calculator:

9* [ 3 - 2*(1.6315789473684210526315789473684)] = -2.3684210526315789473684210526316

permit x be that unknown huge sort. In algebra, your fact is 7(6 - 2x) = x - a million. If we try to establish what for the linked fee of x, we remedy it this way: 7(6) - 7(2x) = x - a million 40 two - 14x = x - a million 14x + x = 40 two + a million 15x = 40 3 x = 40 3/15 or 2 13/15
