Excersise and eat right.... The lowest that you will want to consume is 1200 calories ... anything less and your body will think that it is starving and reset your metabolisim (slow it down).
Try eating lean meats (chicken/sirloin/fish) stay away from things that have enriched flower try to stick with whole grain breads. Remember veggies too leafy greens are the best .. or broccoli. Fruit is a good way to cure a sweet tooth... just in moderation a cup or fresh fruit is a good portion. Consume water and stay away from sugary drinks. Try eating 5-6 small meals per day this way you are continuously fueling your body. Make sure not to eat at least 3 hours before you go to sleep and wait about 2 hours after eating to work out. This way your body will have to use stored fat cells as energy rather than the food you just consumed.

Excersise 1-2 times per day about 20- 45 min of cardio and strength training 3 times per week. You will burn about 600 calories per hour with medium to intense cardio

hope this helps and good luck

Hi,

Believe it or not, there are many ways to lose weight without smoking (although you should think about quitting for your own health - breath, lungs, etc).

Drink Water!

Keeping your body hydrdated gives it the power to burn fat and calories. Water also keeps your skin and hair clear and healthy, keeps you from over eating and it helps regulate your weight.

Eat Apples, Grapefruit, Garlic, Beets, Soy.....

There are lots of foods that actually activate your metabolism AND cleanse your organs, helping them fight fat.

Apples contain a chemical call pectin. Pectin limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb.

Citrus fruits like, oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, and limes contain high concentrations of Vitamin C (this is also called ascorbic acid). This Vitamin C has a fat burning quality.

Garlic has mustard oils and these oils create a cleansing action in the body. They promote a vigorous action of peristalsis, which is muscular contraction, and this will loosen fat and help wash out fats. They can also breakdown clumps of fat. So eat garlic and thin down.

Beets are a strong diuretic that focuses on the liver and kidneys. Beets flush out floating body fats. They have a special iron the cleanses the corpuscles, corpuscles are blood cells that can contain fat deposits.

Soybeans contain lecithin, this chemical will shield your cells from accumulating fat.

Also, hot foods like hot peppers activate your metabolism as well as little tricks like drinking really cold water. Your body needs to work harder to warm up water to a digestable temperature.

And my favourite, cabbage is a great food if you should have a pot belly or a middle age spread. The diuretic cabbage will help to break up the fat in this area.

The little things matter: smaller meals more times in a day. Stay away from FRIED foods and foods that contain these words should be eaten minimally: tempura, alfredo, calabrese, creamy etc...

And whenever you can: park a few stalls away, take the stairs every once in a while, go for a walk on your lunch break. People who take 10,000 steps a day will never gain a pound. The average person takes about 5,000 steps, so up them. Instead of emailing a co-worker, get up and walk to his/her desk. Get off the bus a stop early and walk. Anytime you are in motion, you are burning.

Also try fun things with your friends like lazer tag, beach vollyball, swiming, bowling, golfing, anything where you are moving. Not only will you have fun, you will be burning calories as well.

(did you know we burn more calories when we sleep than watching t.v.) And this brings me to another extremely important point. If you are running on empty (no sleep), your body does not have the tools to cope with doing regular body functions, let alone burn fat and keep you energized.

As much as you may not like exercise, you will only lose so much and then you risk bouncing back because you are not helping your body stay fit. Think of your body as a car, you need to be properly lubricatec *water, and you need to tune it up *exercise and keep it clean *cleanliness.

It is really hard to get on track the first week, but I promise you, once you get active, you'll want to stay that way. When you exercise, you release endorphins into your brain creating ceratonin which is our body's natural happy drug.
I hope this helps :)

giving up smoking will make you GAIN weight. Cigarettes are an appetitie supressant. Try eating healthier, though. And don't eat late at night. Go for a walk or do something active. And at least try to smoke LESS. Good luck.

I am a smoker and I just usually walk. I use to run but that stopped! :) As long as you get a little exercise you should be OK! Since I smoke I don't eat as much. But, everybody is different!

You can certainly do some excersise at the gym....the cross-ramp or elliptical trainer is usually pretty good, and you can vary the resistance. But do consider cutting down on the smoking a bit!

What a crock of hooey> even smokers can exercise, in fact, they should exercise more, in order to get all that crap out of their lungs. Eat less, walk more, stop smoking.
