Is it a felony, misdemeanor, etc.? What state laws are pertinent? Is it also a federal offense?

I do believe it is a FELONY!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe federal. Don't do it.

I would imagine this would be a felony, as the jail time involved is bound to be more than a year.

not only that, but you would probably be open to criminal and civil lawsuits from anyone you hurt in the process. This is a very serious crime.

Would only be federal if you mistook patients in different states. Most doctors receive a license to practice in one state and have to apply for others. So if you lied about having a license in more than one state, and took patients across state lines, then it could be considered federal.
