This is not meant to sound like a smarta$$ answer but, I've never heard of ANY Harley Davidson dealer that will show you their invoice and "haggle" with you over the price. It just doesn't happen. Their attitude is ( and rightly so ), "You want a Genuine Harley Davidson ? THIS is the price, you want to save a couple thousand bucks ? Go buy a Honda or Yamaha or Suzuki"
Actually, that's about all youre gonna save too. Think about it, not that long ago, you could look at a bike from across the parking lot and say .... THAT'S a Harley or THAT'S a Kawasaki, etc., Now, it's not so easy. They all use the same basic styling that has been Harley Davidson styling for years. Even the sound is being copied. So, you want the genuine article ? Expect to pay for it. Yes, it's expensive ( A Heritage Softail should run you about $18,000 - $20,000. An ElectraGlide, $19,000 - $22,000 and a Road King, $21,000 - $24,000 ) My 2003 Heritage Softail was $18,500 in 2003. If you want only the "look" and the "sound" check out some the Metric bikes out there but, still expect to pay between $14,000 and $19,000 for the kind of bike youre looking for. Even "used" Harley Davidsons retain their value very well ( much better than their Metric counter parts ) at roughly 75 - 90% of new retail if it is well maintained and tastefully customized.

You will get robbed buying one of these. There is enough demand that the dealers do not negotiate much on price. If you want to save some big $$$ try to find a used one from a private party. Alot of Doctors,Lawyers etc... buy big Harleys and then find out they really dont have the time to ride. I regularly see 4-6 year old Harleys for sale that have less than 2500 miles on them. Be sure to pay cash. They ride better when paid for!

Also, I have seen too many die over the years on bikes. Be sure your Life insurance AND Long Term Disability is paid up. Good Luck!
