One of the main ways that iodine affects the body and health is through its interactions with the thyroid gland. Approximately 80% of the iodine found in the body is located in the thyroid. With the help of iodine, the thyroid is able to produce its hormones: thyroxine and triodothyronine. These hormones play a major part in regulating processes relating to growth and development of the body and influence the maturation of the reproductive system.

first of all many people don't like to eat sea food which includes different types of fish thus leading to lack in iodine in their diet. iodized salt provides the iodine without having to break your habit to eat sea food. second of all iodine is very important for the thyroid gland which produces the thyroid hormone that regulates metabolism in our bodies. if iodine is not present in our diet a disease called goiter occurs in which the thyroid gland becomes enlarged so we dont want that happening. this is why we commonly use iodized salt.

You can solve this by showing the net ionic equations of each salt dissociating in water. Sodium Chloride = NaCl Calcium Chloride = CaCl2 Iron (II) Chloride = FeCl2 NaCl(aq) -> Na(+) + Cl(-) CaCl2(aq) -> Ca(2+) + 2Cl(-) FeCl2(aq) -> Fe(2+) + 2Cl(-) All ions above are in an aqueous state as well. It looks to me like CaCl2 and FeCl2 are tied for highest chloride concentration, each producing 2 chloride ions per molecule of salt. I hope I've helped! EDIT: The post under me is correct. Sorry, I forgot to take into account the mass of each salt.
