E) 6.92
this is a question about fractions and decimals. For the 3 and 1/2 pounds that is equivalent to 3.5 lbs. At $1.69 per pound you get the cost by multiplying 1.69 $ per pound * 3.5 pounds to get $5.915 or $5.92.
For the lemons, 20 lemons * (1dozen lemon/12 lemons) * .60 cents per dozen and you get $1
add 5.92 + 1 to get $6.92 dollars for the meat and the lemon.

Yes. A pound is 16 ounces. Half a pound (2/4 = 1/2) is 8 ounces. 1/4 of a pound is 4 ounces. 3/4 of a pound is 12 ounces. If the bottom number of the fractions are the same, the larger the top number the bigger the fraction. See, they told you taking math was going to be important when you grew up, didn't they?
