You don't have to boil water anymore. If you have city water, just take it straight from the tap. City water is very safe these days (assuming you live in the United States). If you have a well, you should either boil it or, preferably, buy bottled water with flouride in it. Babies need flouride from a very early age to promote healthy teeth.

make sure the kettle is clean and doesn't have too many calcium deposits. I found that boiling the water in a an open pan is cleanest.
Make a days worth of formula at a time, and fridge it in bottles. Then all you'll have to do is warm the bottle individually on baby's scheduled eating times. 2 months is not too soon for a schedule.

To sterilise the water properly it should boil for at least 2 minutes, a kettle will not do this. To properly sterilise put the water in a pot, cover, and let it boil for at least 2 minutes, then let it cool without lifting the cover, once cooled transfer it to a container and refrigerate, use within 3 days.

It should be safe just wait for it to cool before making the bottles. I never boiled the water but I do have a bottle warmer. My son is a healthy 15 months.

yes, but unless you use well water or there is a boil order in effect for your city, there is no need to boil water. Boiling water to make formula and sterilizing bottles and nipples are really a thing of the past. You are just making more work for yourself.

Sandra I don't see why not. As long as your not giving the hot formula to the baby right away. Oh and don't shake the hot water and formula too soon b/c the milk shoots out. I don't think how you boil the water really matters.

I wouldn't see why it would be a problem. The little bottle warmers that they make now days are electric.
