In Europe, stocking are a big thing and lots of money is spent on these. They are designer stockings though, and have different textures, colors, and patterns.

In the USA stockings are only worn if a person in authority (employer) requires it. In which case many of the women choose to wear pants instead of dress/skirt to avoid the stocking issue.

I am not about to go around fighting with pantyhose for up to 12 hours a day, when I can wear my stockings and garter belt, and feel comfortable all day and feel a little sexy too. They are the only logical choice except perhaps thi-high hold ups, which are too thick for my liking. I prefer the delicate nylon in real stockings, so thin and sheer, compared to pantyhose or hold ups.

Stockings and lingerie are a way to offset some of the boring business clothes that are proper for a woman who is competing with the men for sales. It is not appropriate, or beneficial for me to dress "cute" "prissy" of too sexy. the best look is a sophisticated, classic look, with a little intrigue and hint of sexiness.
