level of condition[s]....PLEASE, help me too find such a book...
47 years that, that penny has been in the market....and there is now way for a "novice" to get some idea of where "their" coin may lie
in a "VALUE-ASPECT"....at least if the condition could be "within"
range [sorta-kinda]....a person could arrive at an approximate / idea of some kind of "VALUE"......

I know that threr are some "HIGH-GRADE" grading companies out there......but, that cost $$ and i'm not that kind of "COLLECTOR / INSPECTOR".....i would just like to come up with basic coin conditions.....who knows ???? mabe i'll find something that might help me with my rent.....[lol...lol]...

Hi. I'm a coin/currency dealer in the Midwest. The best book for you to get to determine a coin's condition is "The Official American Numismatic Assn. Grading Standards Of United States Coins". It lists all major US coin types and includes illustrations of each coin in each state of preservation. Another book is the Photograde Official Photographic Grading Guide To US Coins, but I prefer the ANA grading book. It has better pictures and lists more grades than Photograde does. The ANA book costs $16.95, and Photograde is 12.95. You can find them at your local coin shop, or possibly at a larger bookstore. Hope this info helped.
