That position provides the most comfort for your body. It is the postion you were in while being carried by your mother, the Fetal Position. What could be more comfortable than being surrounded by the body of someone who loves you and never feeling cold or un-touched?

I feel it is the body's way of returning to that original comfort zone. When you are sick you and your body crave comfort.
